Prediction

Colorado Rapids 2, Houston Dynamo 1

Money line (ML)

The COLORADO RAPIDS (+200) are a value on the road, although it’s uncertain if they’ll sub out key members to preserve them for the playoffs or try to finish strong and build momentum. Houston (+115) is playing its final game of the disappointing campaign. However, the Dynamo have given the Rapids fits over the years. In fact, they have two wins, three draws and no losses in the previous five meetings in this series – Colorado won the most recent match 1-0 in Houston on Sept. 10, 2017. If the Rapids were ever going to break the dominance of Dynamo, it’s here, but resting of top players muddles the picture a bit.

Over/Under (O/U)

PASS. I’m just not feeling Over 3.5 (-106). Colorado could power it down a bit with a spot in the postseason already locked up, and Houston could also take its foot off the gas as this is a lame duck match since it’s already eliminated from playoff contention. With both sides facing nothing to play for, the offense might not flow nearly as much. Still, Colorado has averaged nearly two goals per game while posting a plus-6 goal differential, and Houston averages 1.3 goals per game while coughing up 1.7 goals per outing. The alternate line of Over 2.5 (-239) is tempting, but a bit expensive.
