Miguel Cabrera made a hilarious prayer to the heavens after a foul ball just barely missed him

In the name of the Father, the Son, and holy cow!

In his legendary career, Miguel Cabrera has seen it all. Wild finishes. Incredible victories that were back and forth and went off the rails at a bananas pace. His own vintage excellence. Play two decades like Cabrera, and generally, nothing will surprise you anymore in an MLB game.

Notice how I said “generally.”

When the Tigers took on the Rays (-1.5) on Sunday afternoon, it was supposed to be a routine at-bat for Tampa Bay’s Isaac Paredes. But Paredes mashed a foul ball backward as he worked Gregory Soto on the mound. One that rocketed into Detroit’s dugout and just barely (by the tiniest sliver!) missed Miguel Cabrera — who was, understandably, just chilling out between innings.

Cabrera’s dramatic response of gratefulness for the near-miss as he thanked someone upstairs was hysterical:

After 20 years on the force (in the dugout), Cabrera might just be two months from retirement. C’mon! He’s too old for this … well, you know.
