How the Spartans are trying to land Duffy
AJ Duffy’s main recruiter is offensive coordinator and QB’s coach Jay Johnson. Johnson, along with Mel Tucker and the rest of the offensive staff, has collectively put on a full-court press to land the 4-star quarterback.
Michigan State has done a good job recruiting the IMG Academy in Florida, so a lot of familiar faces and teammates of Duffy are being recruited to play at MSU, boding well for the relationships Duffy has with MSU.
USC offensive line commit Dylan Lopez is being pursued hard by the Spartans coaching staff as well. The significance being Lopez and Duffy are childhood best friends and have families that are very close together.
The Spartans coaching staff knows the importance of landing a top-ranked quarterback early in the recruiting cycle, as it boosts the recruiting efforts in all other position groups.
Coach Johnson is doing all that he can to make sure AJ Duffy is a member of Michigan State’s 2022 recruiting class.
