Michigan State football elevates defensive analyst TJ Hollowell into assistant coaching role

Michigan State elevates defensive analyst TJ Hollowell to assistant coach, formalizes Mark Dantonio’s role

Heading into Saturday’s game against Washington, Michigan State football has tweaked some of the coaching staff to fit the immediate needs of the weekend.

The Spartans will be promoting TJ Hollowell from a defensive analyst to an assistant head coach, which will allow him to be one of the ten coaches on field for Saturday’s game and it will also allow him to go on the road and recruit.

The move also clarifies that Mark Dantonio will not be taking that tenth on-field coaching position, but will instead be considered an ‘advisor’ on game days. He will be with the team but will not be wearing a headset.
