The Big Ten Football season is back! Which means watchlist season is also back! The latest Michigan State Football player to make a positional watchlist is center Matt Allen, who was named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist.

The Rimington Trophy is given to the nation’s top center and named after Nebraska legend Dave Rimington. The Rimington Award was created in the early 2000s because there was no specific award to be given to the center position, which is a vital position in any offense. Rimington himself had won the Outland Trophy twice, which is given to interior linemen, but not specifically centers.

Matt Allen is a redshirt senior who will enter the season as one MSU’s top players and leaders.
