Michigan football 2022 game-by-game predictions per ESPN FPI

This is (mostly) good! #GoBlue

The 2022 season for Michigan football kicks off in just under two months, but that gives us plenty of time for speculation as to what will happen for the Wolverines come September.

The maize and blue have an easier-than-usual schedule, with three nonconference games against Group of 5 programs, before opening up Big Ten play at home against Maryland. The Wolverines finally go on the road in Week 5 to Iowa, but they’ll have the tougher games at home — Penn State and MSU, which are separated by a bye week — except the regular season finale at Ohio State.

For the first time in awhile, Michigan isn’t just the favorite in most games, at the moment, it’s the overwhelming favorite — except in one game. At least that’s according to the advanced analytics.

ESPN FPI finally has its game predictions up, and if it plays out as the advanced analytics play out, the Wolverines will have a decent shot at winning the conference and going to the College Football Playoff again — with a little help, of course.

Here’s what ESPN FPI says about each game.
