Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. scored 19 points on Monday during a 114-110 loss to the Orlando Magic in the final tune-up game prior to the season restart this week.

Porter joined the Nuggets at the Walt Disney World Resort just last week and missed the first two scrimmage games. He shot 8-of-13 from the field in 20 minutes of work off of the bench while adding seven rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot.

Porter came out aggressive in his lone scrimmage appearance, recording eight points and six rebounds alone in the first half. He helped keep possessions alive throughout his time on the floor after hauling in three offensive rebounds and he looked to show little rust.

In addition to Porter, the Nuggets also mixed Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap and Will Barton back into the lineup for their first action in exhibition play. With several rotation players back, rookie sensation Bol Bol sat most of the game before playing extensively in the second half. He scored 10 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes of work.

Porter playing well was likely an encouragement for the Nuggets before the season kicks off this week. He could potentially emerge as the wild card off of the bench for the Nuggets and could play a pivotal role in the playoffs.

The Nuggets begin the season restart Aug. 1 vs. the Miami Heat.
