When the San Francisco 49ers took Brock Purdy with the last pick in the 2022 draft, they almost certainly didn’t expect to see him leading the team to a Super Bowl berth two seasons later.
But that’s exactly what happened on Sunday, and even Nick Bosa was awestruck by the Niners quarterback.
In the latest edition of Inside the NFL, we were treated to a mic’d-up conversation between Bosa and Purdy in the locker room. Bosa simply wanted to know where Purdy got that confidence from because Bosa admitted that even he had some self doubt as a former No. 2 pick. He didn’t see any of that from Purdy.

Whatever that formula is — it’s working. Purdy has a chance to be the first Mr. Irrelevant to lead a team to a Super Bowl title as the starting quarterback.
