Matthew Slater had the Patriots locker room fired up with an awesome postgame speech in Buffalo

Leadership.

Monday night’s Week 13 game between the Patriots and Bills was one of those games that no fan is going to rush to re-watch, but it’ll definitely be a memorable one for the New England Patriots.

Both teams battled extreme wind, cold and some snowy conditions at Highmark Stadium throughout the night. The wind was so strong that it nearly had the Monday Night Countdown crew falling out of their seats. But for the Patriots, the gameplan was simple: Run the ball and rely on the defense.

Well, that plan worked in the 14-10 win, and the scene inside the Patriots locker room actually looked … uh … fun?

The Patriots shared footage from the postgame locker room scene, and we were treated to Bill Belichick addressing the team in his actual speaking voice. But the best part had to be the speech from special teams leader Matthew Slater. He put the win in perspective for the entire group:

“Tonight is one of those nights, fellas, that you’ll remember 10, 15, 20 years from now. You won’t remember the cold. You’ll remember the way we responded. It ain’t gonna come to us easy, fellas. We’re gonna have to fight and claw and scrap … Monday night. Buffalo. Snow. Wind. Hostile environment. Nonetheless, how we feel about a Monday night victory?!”

That had the whole locker room fired up, and for good reason — the win put New England atop the AFC standings.
