The Atlanta Falcons squandered an 18-point fourth-quarter lead against the New Orleans Saints in Week 9, but quarterback Matt Ryan got the ball back with a minute left and engineered a clutch drive to cap off a 27-25 Falcons win.

Sunday’s game may not seem like a big deal on the outside, but it gave the Falcons their fourth win — matching last season’s win total — and moved them into the seventh and final NFC playoff seed.

After a 1-3 start, Ryan’s consistent play has helped breathe life into this team, and nothing highlights this more than Ryan’s game-winning drive against Atlanta’s biggest rival. For the year, the former MVP QB has 2,157 passing yards, 15 touchdowns and six interceptions for a passer rating of 98.1.

This is Ryan’s tenth NFC Player of the Week award.
