Matisse Thybulle expected to return Thursday against Celtics

Sixers’ rookie Matisse Thybulle is expected to make his return from a knee injury on Thursday against the Celtics.

Wednesday was a busy day of injury updates for the Philadelphia 76ers, and the news was a mixed bag for the team.

The bad news is that we learned Joel Embiid will miss Thursday’s game against the Celtics due to his dislocated finger. However, we also received an update on Matisse Thybulle and it was much more encouraging.

The impactful rookie has missed nine games with a right knee sprain and bone bruise, but he is expected to play Thursday against the Celtics. Thybulle had been making an impact for the Sixers and turning heads with his impressive defensive abilities and improving offensive game before going down with the injury. His return will certainly be welcomed by Philadelphia.

Thybulle has averaged 4.8 points, 1.2 assists, 1.1 rebounds. 1.4 steals, and 0.7 blocks this season while connecting on 46.3 percent of his 3-point attempts.

His return should provide a nice boost to the team’s bench as it looks to find its groove and make a push for playoff seeding. [lawrence-related id=22971,21900,21342,20980]
