Marquez Stevenson has been designated to return from injured reserve by the Buffalo. He’s now back at practice with his team this week as they prep for their Week 11 matchup with the Cleveland Browns (3-6)
The team announced the transaction on Wednesday.
Buffalo made a similar move with cornerback Tre’Davious White in October.
The designation begins a 21-day window which allows White to practice, however, Stevenson is not yet on the active roster. The team could technically activate him prior to facing Cleveland, but that’s unlikely to happen until it’s closer to the end of the window.
At the end of that time frame, the Bills (6-3) either have to place Stevenson on their 53-man roster or he goes back on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.
However, as Buffalo has shown with White, the team could bring Stevenson back… but still keep him sidelined.
White (knee) has been allowed to legally play over the past few weeks, but he’s still rehabbing and has yet to play.
Stevenson ended up on IR at the start of the 2022 season. He suffered a foot injury during training camp and had surgery in August.
