March Madness: how 10 Sixers players fared in the NCAA Tournament

We take a look at the 10 Philadelphia 76ers who participated in March Madness.

Kyle O’Quinn, Norfolk State 2012

O’Quinn was part of a Cinderella team during his time in the tournament. He scored 26 points on 10-for-16 shooting along with 14 rebounds to lead the 15 seed Spartans over the 2 seeded Missouri Tigers. It was a huge upset as it was Norfolk State’s first and only Division I NCAA Tournament in their history. Unfortunately, O’Quinn struggled in the next game shooting just 1-for-9 as Norfolk State fell to Florida in the next round. He was then drafted by the Orlando Magic in the second round.

Josh Richardson, Tennessee 2014

Richardson was the leader of a Tennessee team who entered the tournament as an 11 seed and had to play in the play-in game just to get to Round 1. He scored 17 points to lead the Volunteers past Iowa and then scored 15 points against 6 seed UMass to get to the Round of 32. He scored 26 points to get past Mercer before running into Glenn Robinson III’s Michigan team in the Sweet Sixteen where he scored 19 points in a 73-71 loss as their dream season ended. Richardson would play one more season in college before being drafted by the Miami Heat.
