Malik Hooker leaves Colts game with Achilles injury

Another former Ohio State player left the field of play with an injury Sunday. The latest is Colts’ safety Malik Hooker.

The injury news with former Ohio State players in the NFL continues to roll in today. Already, we’ve seen Nick Bosa and Parris Campbell both be carted off with what look like significant knee injuries, and now it appears as though Colts’ safety Malik Hooker could also be facing some time off.

According to multiple reports, Hooker limped off into the locker room and will not be back in the game against the Vikings. There is no further update yet aside from the confirmation that he is will not play the rest of the day.

Rookie Julian Blackmon stepped in for the injured Hooker and equated himself quite well.

Hooker is in a rather big year for his future. He has struggled with injuries in the past and the Colts just agreed to pick up his fifth-year option. However, without a momentum-building year this season, he will most likely be allowed to hit the free agent market.

We’ll have more on Hooker’s injury update when it is made available.
