LSU women’s basketball staying put at No. 7 in AP Top 25 once again

The Tigers will hold the No. 7 spot in the AP Poll for another week.

LSU had a lengthy holiday break, but it returned to the court on Saturday to host Jacksonville in a decisive 110-68 blowout.

While that and the fact that No. 6 USC and No. 5 Texas lost may have led you to believe the Tigers would finally move up after a lengthy stay at No. 7 in the AP Top 25, that’s not what happened.

LSU did jump the Trojans, but it was leapfrogged by both Colorado, which upset it in the opener and beat a ranked Utah team this past week, and Baylor, which handed previously No. 5-ranked Longhorns their first loss of the season.

The Tigers have now wrapped up non-conference play and will begin their SEC slate on Thursday when they host Missouri.
