LSU women’s basketball remains No. 7 once again in AP Top 25

The Tigers sit at No. 7 for the sixth week in a row.

LSU did about everything you could ask of it this week, delivering two blowout wins against McNeese — in which it scored a program-record 133 points in an 89-point win — and Northwestern State. But victories over two struggling in-state teams didn’t move the needle in the rankings.

The Tigers still rank No. 7 in the nation in the latest AP Top 25, which is where they’ve sat for six weeks since losing to Colorado in the season opener. There were no changes in the top 10, where unbeaten South Carolina remains the unanimous No. 1 team.

The only one-loss team that currently ranks above LSU is 11-1 Iowa, which it defeated in the national championship last year.

LSU will return to the court one more time on Wednesday at Coppin State before it takes a break for the holidays.
