LSU staffer shares photo of the shoe that doomed Florida

The LSU SID shared a photo of the cleat after the game. Unbelievable.

LSU, in the midst of a terrible season, managed to upset Florida on Saturday night in one of the big upsets of the college football season. The way they did it? Well, it involved a shoe.

Actually it involved one of the craziest endings to a college football game ever. And a shoe. See, Florida and LSU were tied 34-34 and LSU was facing fourth down after a big Gators stop. But after the play, Florida’s Marco Wilson picked up an LSU player’s shoe and hurled it down the field.

Wilson was penalized, LSU got a first down, then nailed a long field goal to give them the 37-34 win.

After the game, LSU’s Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette actually went and found the shoe in question, and snapped a photo of it, before posting that photo to Twitter.

That shoe right there might be what keeps Florida out of the College Football Playoff. Unbelievable. A shoe!
