LSU ranks No. 6 in latest women’s basketball USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

The Tigers took down Coppin State 80-48 on the road in their only outing this week.

The Tigers remained No. 7 once again in the AP Top 25 this week after easily dispatching Coppin State 80-48 on the road in Baltimore in their only game of the week.

However, the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll for women’s basketball was once again higher on coach Kim Mulkey’s squad than the AP. LSU ranks No. 6 once again in the coaches poll, marking the third week in a row.

Winners of their last 12, the Tigers still rank higher than the Colorado squad that beat them, and they’re the second-highest-ranked one-loss team behind Caitlin Clark and Iowa, which ranks third in the nation.

LSU currently has some time off for the holiday break, but it will return to the court on Dec. 30 for its final non-conference game against Jacksonville. After that, SEC play begins as Missouri comes to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on Jan. 4.
