LSU QB commit Garrett Nussmeier selected to Under Armour All-American game

Now, Nussmeier can add another honor to his list.

It’s been a hectic few months for LSU commit Garrett Nussmeier.

The 2021 quarterback committed to LSU on May 4, kicking off a strong few months for the Tigers on the recruiting trail.

In early July, Nussmeier was named a finalist for the Elite 11 quarterback competition and drew rave reviews. Former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer, who is the head coach of the Elite 11, was certainly impressed with Nussmeier.

He’s had to earn a starting quarterback job seven times from his dad (Coach Doug Nussmeier taking jobs) moving so much from little league to high school and you can see that with how he carries himself. He’s a kid that’s free-flowing, charismatic and everyone loves him and he can play. This kid generates a lot of power for not being a huge kid. You see a lot of coaches kids that are really robotic. He’s not robotic. I played with his dad in the pros and he’s a better version of his dad. He’s a twitchier, a little more powerful version of his pops.

Now, Nussmeier can add another honor to his list.

Nussmeier was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American Game, which is scheduled to take place in January, but the COVID-19 pandemic has made all sporting events uncertain in the near future.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Nussmeier is from Marcus High School in Flower Mound, Texas.
