LSU baseball’s Hayden Travinski named Co-SEC Player of the Week after opening weekend

Hayden Travinski was 7 for 11 at the plate in the first three games this weekend with four RBI and a home run.

The 2024 college baseball season began over the weekend, and the Tigers are 4-0 after turning in a pair of wins against both VMI and Central Arkansas.

Catcher/designated hitter [autotag]Hayden Travinski[/autotag] was a major reason for that success, and he was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week by the league office on Monday alongside Georgia’s Slate Alford.

Travinski was 7 for 11 at the plate in the first three games of the series, hitting a home run while recording four RBI and scoring eight runs. He also earned a pair of walks and was hit by two pitches, giving him a stellar on-base percentage of .733 in those games.

In Monday’s game, which occurred after Travinski won the award, he went 1 of 3 at the plate with an RBI and a walk.

Travinski and the Tigers will be back in action on Thursday against Northern Illinois as it prepares for a four-game set that will also feature a pair of matchups against Stony Brook.
