After surviving a scare against Alabama in Game 1, the Tigers looked to take the series with a win in Game 2. Despite a rough start that saw it fall behind early, LSU pulled out a 12-8 win to take the series.
The game didn’t start out well as Alabama scored two runs in the top of the first inning before LSU scored a run in the bottom of the second. In the top of the third inning,
Alabama scored four more runs to chase [autotag]Ty Floyd[/autotag] from the mound and give them a 6-1 lead. In the bottom of the inning, [autotag]Tommy White[/autotag] hit a three-run Tommy Tank to right field to make it 6-4 Alabama after three innings.

The Tide hit a solo homer in the top of the fourth to increase their lead to 7-4. In the bottom of the sixth inning, [autotag]Dylan Crews[/autotag] scored on a fielder’s choice to cut the lead to 7-5. [autotag]Hayden Travinski[/autotag] followed that with a three-run bomb to give LSU its first lead of the ball game as the Tigers led 8-7 after six innings.

In the bottom of the seventh, Crews scored on a safety squeeze by [autotag]Cade Beloso[/autotag] to increase the lead to 9-7.

In the top of the eighth inning, Alabama scored on a wild pitch to cut the lead to 9-8. In the bottom of the eighth, [autotag]Jared Jones[/autotag] hit a two-run bomb to increase the Tiger lead to 11-8. Crews followed that with an RBI single to make it 12-8 LSU.

[autotag]Thatcher Hurd[/autotag] stayed on the mound to try to close out the game. With the win, LSU moves to 34-8 overall and 14-5 in conference play. The Tigers will go for the sweep on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT.
