The Texas Tech Red Raiders (13-12) are ready to face the Texas Longhorns (20-5).
Texas Tech’s men’s basketball account posted Tech fans camping outside ahead of tonight’s game in Lubbock.
The increased hatred between Texas and Tech began just before last season when Texas poached Chris Beard from Lubbock. Since, the team’s fans have spent the last two seasons with added hatred for the Longhorns. Expect the vitriol to be in full force tonight.
Last season, Texas Tech fans welcomed Texas to a chorus of profanity as they likely could again as the 2023 series comes to a close. Brock Cunningham relished the villain role last year, and the rest of the team should as well in Monday’s game.
Texas Tech hosts Texas on the heels of an impressive upset win over No. 12 Kansas State. That win in concert with the team’s upset over then No. 13 Iowa State should be reason enough to take the Raiders seriously Monday night.
Texas will look to stay alive in its hunt for a Top 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
We joke about this being Tech's Super Bowl, but…. https://t.co/6GGNZKaJiN
