After the Tennessee Volunteers defeated Alabama for the first time in 15 years, one player took to social media to speak out. Tennessee offensive tackle Gerald Mincey responded to a post on Instagram regarding Will Anderson and the Crimson Tide playing with anxiety.
“Naw fam you (Will Anderson) just suck..,” he said.
Those are strong words pointed toward a potential first-overall pick. Although Anderson didn’t play particularly well in the Week 7 loss, it doesn’t change the fact that he will likely be a top-five pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
Mincey and the Volunteers’ offensive line were able to minimize the Alabama pass rush. Alabama’s defense was only able to get one sack on Hendon Hooker. It will be interesting to see if the two meet again for the SEC Championship in Atlanta. For that to happen, both teams will likely have to win out.
If the two are able to collide with the College Football Playoff on the line, it would be interesting to see the matchup between Anderson and Mincey.
