Jayden Daniels is the new quarterback for the Washington Commanders. Fans will not have to wait long to see Daniels in the burgundy and gold as Washington’s rookie minicamp kicks off on May 10.

Daniels’ rise to become the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft is fascinating, and it mirrors that of another former Heisman-winning LSU star, Joe Burrow.

After three years as the starting quarterback at Arizona State, Daniels transferred to LSU ahead of the 2022 college football season. At Arizona State, Daniels didn’t have a great supporting cast, but that changed at LSU.

In his first season for the Tigers, Daniels looked like a completely different player. In 2023, he took another step forward, passing for over 3,800 yards with 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions while rushing for over 1,100 yards and 10 more touchdowns. Daniels was phenomenal,

Now, he’s in the NFL and looking to turn around the struggling Commanders who have failed to find an answer under center for years.
