In case you missed some rather significant and welcome news Tuesday, Ohio State football’s matchup vs. Notre Dame on September 3 will be under the lights in the grand ‘ole Horseshoe. For many that have lamented the lack of night games since Fox took hold of the biggest of games for the Big Ten, it is an atmosphere that has been a long time coming.
The game will be at 7:30 PM ET with ABC having the call. Also, a part of that is that ESPN’s College Gameday crew will be on-site for the game and all the bruhaha that comes with that.
That of course means that the ESPN crew will make picks for most of the games, saving the OSU vs. Notre Dame game as the last featured pick with a “celebrity guest picker.” And with that, it looks like ESPN analyst and former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit has at least asked one of the greatest sports legends of all time if he would like to take part.
When the news broke about the game time, arguably Ohio’s most famous son and Buckeye superfan LeBron James showed interest in being a part of all the fun that night.
What's the date of this??? Need it ASAP!! 😱😱😱😱 https://t.co/rhaEQkwCmB

To that, Herbstreit at least asked the Los Angeles Lakers star to be the celebrity guest picker representing Ohio State on the set.
September 3rd. Celebrity picker?? https://t.co/LxgKlgKamg

Now, this doesn’t mean that James is on board with this, but at least there’s that chance. It would make for quite the pregame buzz to have one of the greatest basketball players to ever live show his OSU pride and pick the Buckeyes to win by at least a couple of touchdowns.
