Longhorns Wire staff predictions for Texas vs. UTSA

Texas has a few key injuries, while UTSA is banged up along the offensive line.

No. 21 Texas will host UTSA in Week 3 for the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

Steve Sarkisian’s squad put together one of their best performances against the top team in the country last week, while Jeff Traylor has UTSA trending in the right direction.

A few key injuries have been the primary storyline for Texas heading into this matchup. Sarkisian is not announcing who will start at quarterback against the Roadrunners.

Quinn Ewers is expected to miss a few weeks with a shoulder sprain, while backup Hudson Card is dealing with an ankle sprain. Redshirt freshman Charles Wright will get the start if Ewers and Card cannot play. Bijan Robinson and D’Shawn Jamison are also considered day-to-day with injuries of their own.

The Longhorns should be able to rely on their defense to escape their final nonconference game with a win. UTSA has a handful of injuries along the offensive line.

Here’s a look at Longhorns Wire’s game predictions for Texas-UTSA on Saturday evening.
