  1. Joseph Ossai LB– Ossai finished off the season strong and earned himself Valero Bowl Defensive MVP honors. With new defensive coordinator Chris Ash in charge, look for Ossai to do more of what he did in that game, which is get after the quarterback.
  2. Caden Sterns S– Sterns will return in 2020 as the top safety alongside B.J. Foster for the reworked defense. Sterns will be looking to get back to his freshman form when he snagged four interceptions.
  3. Ta’Quon Graham DE– The Longhorns will have fourth-year defensive end Graham returning and will likely play opposite of Ossai. The senior will look to have a bigger impact in the new look defense.

  4. D’Shawn Jamison DB– In 2019 Jamison was one of the bright spots of an underperforming defense. He picked off three passes a season ago, not to mention Jamison looks to make his impact felt on special teams in the return game.
  5. DeMarvion Overshown DB/LB– Overshown will be in his third year playing for the Longhorns. Ash mentioned him as moving to linebacker for the defense, where he could be a weapon that lines up in multiple spots for Texas in order to create chaos on that side of the ball.
