Longhorns Wire Roundtable: Kansas matchup, latest BetMGM odds

With the Texas Longhorns-Kansas Jayhawks matchup fast approaching, we look at the latest odds. Plus what each staff member is watching for.

Texas returned to the practice facility on Wednesday after a recent outbreak of positive COVID-19 tests.

There are now a total of seven cases within the team and some additional cases among staffers. However, the Longhorns are still hopeful that the final regular season game against Kansas will be played as scheduled on Dec. 12.

The No. 20 Longhorns are 6-3 (5-3) this year and will travel to Lawrence to face the Kansas Jayhawks 0-9 (0-8) on Saturday. The last meeting between these two teams was a high scoring affair with a 50-48 final, where Texas needed a last-second field goal from Cameron Dicker to escape with a win. This year doesn’t seem to be headed in that direction, but you just can’t predict anything with this team.

The Longhorns opened as 29.5 point favorites to start the week according to BetMGM odds. It could be the fact many aren’t sure that the game will even take place, but the line is holding steady at that (-29.5) in favor of Texas.
