Going into the 2020 football season, LonghornsWire will be looking at each scholarship player listed on the Texas roster.
Over the summer, each profile will cover where the player is from, how recruiting websites rated them coming out of high school, and what role they will play for Tom Herman this season.
Today, we will be looking at junior punter Ryan Bujcevski.
Ryan Bujcevski, Punter
Height: 6-0 / Weight: 185
Class: Junior
Hometown: Sydney, Australia
High School: Marist Catholic College Penshurst
HS ranking (247Sports): Three-star / No. 1 position / No. 1 in-state
HS ranking (Rivals): Two-star
Analysis: Coming from down under, Ryan Bujcevski will be entering his third season as the starting punter for Texas. The top-ranked punter coming out of high school according to 247Sports, Ryan Bujcevski was on the Ray Guy Award watchlist going into the 2019 season.
Unfortunately, his season was cut short after injuring his shoulder against TCU. In the nine games he played in, Bujcevski averaged 41.4 yards per punt. Three of his punts surpassed 50 yards and Bujcevski was able to pin 10 punts inside the 20-yard line.
Bujcevski will pick up where he left off in 2020. While no offense wants to see the punter on the field, having a great one can be seen as a weapon for the defense. Bujcevski will once again be one of the best in the Big 12 next season.
