Longhorns in the NFL: Lil’Jordan Humphrey waived, Cameron Dicker named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

Cameron Dicker filled in for an injured Jake Elliott this week.

A couple of former Longhorns had an eventful week in the NFL.

Former Texas wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey was waived by the New England Patriots on Tuesday. Humphrey signed a one-year contract with the Patriots over the summer before he was ultimately a part of the 53-man roster cuts. He later signed to New England’s practice squad before being promoted to the active roster.

Humphrey appeared in all five games for the Patriots this season, hauling in two catches for 20 yards and primarily received playing time on special teams.

On the other hand, former Texas kicker Cameron Dicker had a fantastic NFL debut for the Philadelphia Eagles. Dicker filled in for an injured Jake Elliott and made both of his field goal attempts, including the game-winner, and two point-after attempts. He earned NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors for his performance.

It’s unclear what the future holds for Dicker, but he certainly proved he can hold his own in the NFL.
