Lions announcer Dan Miller’s emotional call of first playoff win in 32 years was so cool to watch

He waited decades for that call.

Detroit Lions play-by-play announcer Dan Miller joined the team’s radio booth in 2005. And in that time, he never had a chance to call the team win a playoff game … until Sunday.

In front of a raucous crowd at Ford Field — and against the franchise’s longtime quarterback in Matthew Stafford — the Lions defeated the Rams to end one of the more astounding postseason win droughts in all of American sports.

Thankfully, the Lions social team was more than ready to capture the historic moment and had a camera set up in the radio booth for the entire game. The highlights from Miller’s night alongside former Lions star Lomas Brown were so fun to watch.

The final call was especially great:

“This game is over! The Detroit Lions have won it. Celebrate, boys! Celebrate! You’re coming right back here next week.”

Fans also enjoyed watching the highlights from the radio booth. That win was a long time coming.
