We’ve been waiting to see if more fallout occurs with the Ohio State football roster since the team is over the scholarship limit as it stands, and now we have some more news on that front.
According to news first reported by Pete Thamel, Buckeye cornerback Lejond Cavazos has entered the transfer portal and is looking to leave the program and become immediately eligible at another program.
Cavazos came to the Ohio State program as a four-star prospect in the 2020 class. He was expected to factor into the depth chart this coming season in a secondary that is being somewhat retooled under first-year defensive coordinator Jim Knowles, but that will no longer be the case.

Cavazos saw action in six games last season, totaling eight tackles and two passes defended. He could potentially still have four seasons of eligibility remaining.
There has been no official word from Ohio State yet, but we’ll watch for when one does become available.
