After snapping a four-game losing streak on Friday night, LeBron James had the time and energy to address comments which surfaced from soccer star Zlatan Ibrahimovic, in which the AC Milan striker said it is a “mistake” and it “doesn’t look good” when James and other famous sports figures wade into the world of politics.
Following last night’s victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, James addressed the comments from Ibrahimovic, saying he will never “stick to sports.”
James also mentioned that Ibrahimovic has been more vocal about non-sports issues than he portrays, as James mentioned comments from the Swedish striker in 2018 in which he said he felt “undercover racism,” because his last name was not a traditional Swedish name.
“I speak from a very educated mind,” James told reporters. “I’m kind of the wrong guy to actually go at, because I do my homework.”
James also mentioned the I Promise School and his More Than A Vote non-profit as examples of things he is passionate about and will not simply be silent about when he believes his voice can help them.
