Although the 2020 NFL Draft wrapped up less than two weeks ago, it’s never too early to go ahead and focus on next year’s NFL Draft. And according to the latest mock draft by PFF.com, 6 Alabama players could be drafted in the first round of the next NFL draft.
This past draft, Alabama had four players drafted in the first round. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa was drafted by Miami as the fifth pick, Jedrick Wills Jr. was drafted by the Cleveland Browns as the 10th pick, Henry Ruggs III was drafted as the 12th pick by the Las Vegas Raiders, and Jerry Jeudy was the last Alabama player taken off the board in the first round as the 15th pick to the Denver Broncos.
Could Alabama beat that next year and have 6 players drafted in the first round? Time will tell, but let’s see which 6 players PFF has being drafted, and where.
12. LOS ANGELES CHARGERS — OT ALEX LEATHERWOOD, ALABAMA
“Leatherwood would have been among the top tackles in last year’s class had he declared, but he chose to return to Alabama. The way we saw certain tackles get pushed down, that could be the right decision with a big senior year. Leatherwood actually outperformed Jedrick Wills Jr. in pass protection last year with an 80.0 pass-blocking grade at only 10 pressures allowed all season.”
