Lady Vols win series at Texas A&M

Tennessee softball wins the series at Texas A&M.

No. 4 Tennessee (29-3, 10-2 SEC) defeated No. 25 Texas A&M (22-13, 5-7 SEC), 9-2, Sunday at Davis Diamond in College Station, Texas.

Tennessee won its fourth consecutive series.

The Lady Vols scored twice in the first inning. Rylie West scored on a wild pitch and Lair Beautae walked with the bases loaded to score McKenna Gibson.

The Aggies tied the game, 2-2. Tennessee scored seven unanswered runs.

Tennessee led, 3-2, in the fourth inning after an RBI single by Kiki Milloy scored Giulia Koutsoyanopulos.

The Lady Vols scored five times in the fifth inning. Koutsoyanopulos hit a three-run douuble and scored on an error after Jamison Brockenbrough singled. Milloy hit an RBI single in the inning.

Koutsoyanopulos recorded an RBI for the final run of the contest. She walked with the bases loaded in the sixth inning.

Karlyn Pickens (7-3) pitched 6.2 innings of scoreless relief. She allowed four walks and recorded 10 strikeouts.

Payton Gottshall started and allowed two runs, three hits and one walk in 0.1 innings pitched. She recorded one strikeout.
