Lady Vols to host first and second rounds of NCAA Tournament

The Lady Vols will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

Tennessee (23-11, 13-3 SEC) will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament at Thompson-Boling Arena March 18-20.

Tennessee, the SEC Tournament runner-up and No. 4 seed in the Seattle 3 Regional, will open tournament play against No. 13 Saint Louis (17-17, 10-6 A10).

The Billikens won the Atlantic 10 Tournament championship and are in the midst of a six-game winning streak after defeating Massachusetts, 95-91 in overtime, in the tournament title game March 5.

No. 5 seed Iowa State (22-9, 12-7 Big 12) will play No. 12 Toledo (28-4, 16-2 Big 12) in a matchup of conference tournament champions.

The Cyclones defeated Texas, 61-51, Sunday in the Phillips Big 12 Tournament championship game.

The Rockets outlasted Bowling Green, 73-58, in the MAC Tournament final Saturday.
