Lady Vols suffer second consecutive loss.

Georgia (7-3-4, 3-2-2 SEC) defeated Tennessee (6-4-4, 1-3-3 SEC), 2-1, Friday at Regal Soccer Stadium.

Friday’s loss is the Lady Vols’ second consecutive after three straight ties.

Tennessee scored the contests first goal in the first 35 seconds into the match. Kate Runyon scored her fourth goal of the season and Jordan Fusco was  credited with an assist for Tennessee.

The Bulldogs tied the game, 1-1, on an unassisted goal by Hannah White in the second minute, her fourth during the 2023 campaign.

Georgia’s Summer Denigan scored an eventual game winning goal in the 74th minute.

Tennessee outshot the Bulldogs, 9-8, with four of its scoring opportunities landing on goal. Georgia had three shots on goal in the match.
