After being held at bay for two innings Saturday afternoon, the Tennessee softball team scored runs in bunches.
The No. 23 Lady Vols (10-1) saw their bats stifled early, but their offense came to life with a vengeance in a 9-0 five-inning victory over Central Michigan at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols started its scoring in the third inning when Cailin Hannon’s two-run single plated Kiki Milloy and Chelsea Seggern, making it 2-0.
Seggern had a two-run single, extending Tennessee’s advantage to 4-0 in the fourth inning, before Hannon drew a walk with the bases loaded.
Madison Webber also drew a bases-loaded free pass in the frame to make it 6-0.
In the fifth, Ivy Davis drove in a run when she grounded out, setting the stage for Shipman’s round-tripper that ended things early.
In the circle, Callie Turner started against the Chippewas (1-1). Turner picked up her second win of the season as she went four innings. She surrendered four hits, one walk and recorded one strikeout.
