Tennessee opened its 2021-22 season with an exhibition victory over Georgia College Wednesday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
No. 12 Tennessee darted out to a fast start and cruised to 104-48 win over the Bobcats, coached by Ross Jolly, the brother of UT head coach Kellie Harper.
The Lady Vols opened a 28-6 lead in the first quarter.
Tennessee outscored Georgia College, 78-24, in the paint and had five players post double figures in the scoring column.
Rae Burrell led the way for the Lady Vols, scoring 18 points. She also recorded four rebounds.
Jordan Horston added 14 points and eight rebounds, while Alexus Dye finished with 12 points and six rebounds. She was one of three players to secure six rebounds along with Kaia Wynn and Keyen Green.
Green and Jordan Walker each scored 11 points.
Sara Pickett was the Lady Vols’ leading rebounder, finishing with nine rebounds.
Tennessee opens its regular season Wednesday against Southern Illinois in Knoxville.
Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. EST and the game will be televised on SEC Network.
