Ladd McConkey announces his NFL draft decision

Star Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey makes NFL draft decision

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey announced his intention to enter the 2024 NFL draft on Monday. McConkey shared the decision on social media days after the Bulldogs’ 63-3 win over Florida State, in which McConkey scored a touchdown.

McConkey’s decision doesn’t come as a surprise. He will draw legitimate interest at the next level. McConkey is ranked as the seventh-best receiver on Pro Football Focus’ big board.

Although he dealt with injuries throughout his final season in Athens, McConkey still made an impact when he played. He finished the year with 478 yards and two touchdowns. He finished his time with the Bulldogs totaling 119 catches for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He made countless big plays during his time with the Bulldogs, notably a huge touchdown against Tennessee when the Volunteers came to Athens as the No. 1 team a season ago. He leaves as a two-time national champion.

The Georgia native is leaving the Bulldogs, but the wide receiver room should still be plenty talented with Dillon Bell and Dominic Lovett coming back. The Bulldogs also went to the transfer portal for receiver help with the addition of London Humphreys and Colbie Young.

Best of luck to one of the more electric Georgia receivers we’ve seen in recent years.
