Lakers at Warriors picks and predictions

Prediction

Warriors 115, Lakers 108

Moneyline

PASS.

The Warriors were among the best home teams in the NBA this season, but to win outright at (-190), they have little value.

The Lakers could be worthy of a look on the moneyline at (+155), but given I prefer the Warriors’ home strength over their potentially tired legs, I’d ultimately look to the spread for value.

Against the spread

BET WARRIORS -4.5 (-110).

Golden State, postseason included, is 28-15-1 ATS at home, and despite going 1-2 ATS against Sacramento, it still has the best home-covering record in the NBA. It has had strength in numbers and should bounce back well against a familiar foe.

The Lakers, on the other hand, were just 20-23-1 ATS on the road. The Grizzlies didn’t play overly well for much of the series and scored under 105 in 3 of the 6 games. The Warriors have a more fluid offense that will put on display some of the Lakers’ defensive issues.

The Dubs should perform well at home and keep on rolling. Take WARRIORS -4.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 227.5 (-110).

The Warriors were 3-4 O/U in their 1st-round series while the Lakers were  2-4 O/U. There were only 16 playoff teams in the postseason, and the Warriors and Lakers both ranked outside the top half in effective field goal percentage after Round 1.

These teams didn’t shoot that well, and in a higher-intensity environment, expect a slower-paced game. Back the UNDER 227.5 (-110).
