Kyle Young coming back for one more year

Ohio State forward Kyle Young took to Twitter Friday to announce that he will be coming back to play for the Buckeyes one more season.

Count me in the camp that is very excited about this news.

Ohio State forward Kyle Young announced today that he will be taking advantage of the extra year the NCAA is allowing because of the COVID-19 pandemic and coming back to play for the Buckeyes next year,

It can only be seen as a very positive development for Ohio State. Young is like a coach on the floor, does all of the little things needed to help win ballgames, and has seen his offensive game blossom as well. He was a senior last year, and it was assumed that his career on the banks of the Olentangy was over. Young even participated in senior day festivities when OSU played its last home game.

But now, one of the most important pieces on the Ohio State roster will still be in place and become a central piece to what head coach Chris Holtmann and staff build around for the 2021-2022 season.

Young has been saddled with injury issues during his career, so much so that he wasn’t able to finish up with his team in the Big Ten Tournament and NCAAs. You have to think that played into his decision to give it one more run.

When we have an official statement from either Young or head coach Chris Holtmann, we’ll bring that to you, but for now, this is a very, very underrated positive development for next year’s squad if that’s possible.
