Kyle Shanahan shares praise for 49ers QB Brock Purdy after Super Bowl loss vs. Chiefs

Following their loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, Kyle Shanahan shared praise for the 49ers QB.

Brock Purdy’s first appearance in the Super Bowl resulted in a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Purdy finished the game 255 yards on 23-of-28 passing with a touchdown. Purdy added three carries for 12 yards on the ground.

Despite securing a three-point advantage after leading a strong drive down the field in overtime, it wasn’t enough for Purdy against Mahomes. The Chiefs quarterback got the final word with a touchdown pass to Mecole Hardman to end the game, 25-22 in overtime.

Although his first Super Bowl start ended with a defeat, Kyle Shanahan is still proud of the 49ers young quarterback. Following the game, Shanahan shared praise for Purdy.

You don’t say a lot. There’s not much to say. You let guys deal with it. You got to feel this. This isn’t something that just words or anything makes it feel better. You sit there and you deal with it and you got to do that for awhile.

I’m so proud of Brock — how he shows up every week, how he plays. He’s had an unbelievable year. He did a hell of a job today.
