Kyle McCord not transferring to Nebraska opens door for Georgia QB commit

There’s a growing belief Georgia will lose the commitment from five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, the No. 1 prospect in the 2024 class.

Earlier this week, 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong projected Raiola to flip to Nebraska. Raiola’s father, Dominic Raiola, played center for the Cornhuskers, while his uncle, Donovan Raiola, serves as offensive line coach in Lincoln.

A report on Wednesday by On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos has made that prediction more believable.

Nakos reported Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord is not transferring to Nebraska as previously expected, opening the door wider for Raiola to take the reins immediately if a flip does occur.

Raiola transferred to Buford High School in Georgia this fall and led the Wolves to an 11-2 record.

Raiola is reportedly visiting Nebraska this week.

The good news for Georgia is if Raiola decommits, the Bulldogs still have a top-10 passer coming to Athens in the 2024 class, four-star Ryan Puglisi.

Puglisi (Avon, Connecticut) is the No. 10 quarterback and the No. 134 player overall in the class, per 247Sports.

This situation puts even more weight on junior quarterback Carson Beck, who has not yet announced his decision on turning pro or staying with the Bulldogs for another season.
