Klay Thompson resting on second leg of back-to-back on Saturday vs. Rockets

Klay Thompson will get a rest day on the second leg of a back-to-back on Saturday against the Rockets.

On Friday night, the Golden State Warriors secured their ninth consecutive victory at the Chase Center with a 119-111 win over the Chicago Bulls

Klay Thompson helped fuel Golden State’s offense with 26 points on 9-of-21 shooting from the floor with three made 3s to go along with six assists and five rebounds in 37 minutes.

On the second leg of a back-to-back on Saturday against the Houston Rockets, Thompson will be on the bench. The Warriors are giving Thompson a rest day to close their home back-to-back. Thompson has not played both games in any of the back-to-backs this season.

Without Thompson, Poole will likely get the nod in the starting lineup next to Steph Curry in Golden State’s backcourt. Poole is coming off a 30-point performance to lead the Warriors against the Bulls on Friday. Poole caught fire from long distance, drilling seven 3s in 23 minutes off the bench.

The Warriors are slated to host the Rockets on Saturday night at Chase Center at 5:30 p.m. PT.
