A day after news broke that Zak Herbstreit, the son of former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN analyst, Kirk Herbstreit, had been admitted to the hospital in Columbus, the younger Herbstreit was released.
According to Joey Kaufman of the Columbus Dispatch, the current Buckeye tight end was sent home from OSU’s Wexner Medical Center and later confirmed by multiple reports.
Though the illness was undisclosed, father Kirk, provided a message from his son that mentioned a cardiologist and alluded to some time that it will take to get healthy. With that in mind, there is clearly no timetable for Herbstreit’s return to the football program, and that’s as it should be. For now, all of Buckeye Nation is grateful and content that Herbstreit has been released home for monitoring.

All of the rest will hopefully take care of itself.
