Kirk Herbstreit ranks his top four college football teams after week 3

Former Ohio State quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit revealed his top four college football teams after week 3.

The media isn’t quite sure how to treat teams so far this fall. With the Big Ten and Pac-12 sitting on the sidelines for now while the other three Power Five conferences have broken the seal on the season, some have taken to ranking teams like Ohio State, while others have decided to wait.

Former Buckeye quarterback and current ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit is one of those that is taking a wait and see approach to his opinion rankings. In fact, earlier this week, Herbie updated his top four teams for the college football season so far and did not include OSU at all, saying he’s only ranking teams that have played thus far.

So, instead of Ohio State appearing in Herbsteit’s top four, instead, it’s Clemson at No. 1, followed by Alabama (2), Florida (3), and Miami (4). He does include an honorable mention of Georgia and Mississipi State as the next two out.

He is clear though that this ranking will be very fluid as other programs start to put some game film out there.

We’ll keep an eye on Herbstreit’s rankings as Ohio State and its colleagues begin to enter the fray in late October. Until then, hang in there Buckeye fans.
