Kirk Cousins has torn Achilles tendon, out for season

Brutal loss for the Vikings, as Cousins was playing at an extremely high level

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins tore his Achilles tendon on Sunday against the Green Bay Packers.

Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell said that the team fears an Achilles injury for the starting quarterback. During that press conference, O’Connell wouldn’t commit to Jaren Hall as the starting quarterback.

This is a brutal loss for the Minnesota Vikings, who have been playing great football over the first eight games of the season.

Cousins has never missed a game because of an injury in his NFL career. He did miss a game in 2021 after contracting COVID-19.

Where do the Vikings go from here? That remains to be seen, but we will have all the information as it happens here at Vikings Wire.
