Kirby Smart shares positive update on Georgia RB Kendall Milton

Kirby Smart likes what he’s seen from Kendall Milton ahead of the Kentucky game: ‘He’s been great this week’

There is positive news on the injury front for the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (5-0) as they get set to take on the No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats (5-0).

Senior running back Kendall Milton has been limited this season. First it was a preseason hamstring strain and more recently an MCL strain suffered against South Carolina that has kept Milton from playing meaningful snaps.

Milton made an appearance against Auburn last week, but played only five snaps and didn’t carry the ball.

Head coach Kirby Smart said Milton has been great in practice this week.

“He’s been great this week, he looks healthier this week than he did last,” Smart said on the SEC coaches teleconference call on Wednesday. “He’s got some speed. He’s fresh out there, so we’re certainly hoping he can help impact that run game.”

Having Milton healthy is a big boost to a UGA tailback room that has been decimated with injuries. True freshman Roderick Robinson’s status is unclear as he recovers from an ankle injury suffered versus South Carolina, and sophomore Branson Robinson is out for the season with a torn patella tendon suffered in fall camp.

Kickoff versus Kentucky is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET in Sanford Stadium and the game will be carried on ESPN.
