On Tuesday, Tyrese Haliburton hit two clutch 3-pointers in the fourth quarter to help the Sacramento Kings to a 125-115 comeback win over the Denver Nuggets.
He then promptly reminded everyone to put some respect on his name.
Denver outscored Sacramento 38-22 in the third quarter to take a four-point lead into the fourth period. The Nuggets eventually pushed the advantage to seven points before the Kings went on a run, aided largely by Haliburton.
The rookie played all 12 minutes in the fourth quarter and scored a team-high eight points in the period, including two 3-pointers, as the Kings outscored the Nuggets 29-15 to seal the win. His triple with just over three minutes left pushed the lead to 12 points as that proved to be the dagger.
Haliburton finished with 13 points, six assists, three steals and three rebounds in 25 minutes off the bench. Following his display on Tuesday, Haliburton is now shooting 50% from 3-point range (8-of-16) in four games with the Kings.
He sent a message to his critics after his big fourth quarter.

Haliburton was commonly criticized during the pre-draft process for having a unique shot motion, despite shooting 41.9% from 3-point range last season at Iowa State on 5.6 attempts per game. However, the perceived weakness of his shot maybe just that since he has experienced no issues to this point in the NBA.
Of course, the four-game sample size is extremely small, and things can certainly change, but Haliburton appears to be well on his way to having a strong year from beyond the arc. He appears to be among the early steals in the draft, and that could pay off in a big way this season.
